This magnificent work of art stands roughly 40 cm. tall, the presentation platter is approximately 58 cm. in length and 48 cm. across at it's widest point. The soup / stew tureen is approximately 53 cm. in length to the tips of the handles, and 24 cm. across at it widest point. The interior or the tureen is 32.5 cm. in length, 23.50 cm. across at it's widest point and roughly 13 cm. deep. It's total weight is a whopping 5,170 grams (approximate). This is a massive masterpiece ideal for the center of the table decoration. It is really in "Like New" condition with absolutely no wearing of the silver plate and is offered at 1/5th of the price new. The look, feel and weight of a sterling silver piece. The overall condition reflects very little use. A gem of a find.

Bernard Plasait was bone on June 20, 1940 in the Cantal. A Lawyer, he severed as Senator of Paris from 1995 to 2004; Counselor of Paris from 1983 to 2002; and also throughout his illustrious political career was deputy mayor of Paris, regional advisor of the Ile-de-France and a member of the Economic Council. From 1965 to 2000 he headed “PLASAIT Goldsmith”; a company specializing in the creation and manufacture of exotic silverware pieces and located on the famous "Place des Vosges" in Paris. 1969 he received the Grand Prize of French creations for his outstanding “Arts of the Table” creations. In 1987, he established a museum to display and preserve signature tableware pieces created by the firm. This outstanding piece is typical of pieces on display in museum.
